The first Free Being Me program in south Taiwan was the “Free Being Me Leadership Camp” held by Girl Scouts of Kaohsiung on September 27th and 28th at Kaohsiung Municipal Kaohsiung High School of Commerce. There were 60 girl scouts, 10 senior girl scouts and 15 troop leaders. Trained leaders and senior girl scouts, who took the role of peer educators, worked together to guide girl scouts from 16 different troops from Kaohsiung.

After doing five FBM sessions, the girls gradually get rid of image myth and know themselves better. They tried to express themselves, to be more self-confident and intended to influence more girls around them. Each girl recorded their learning process and action plan in the “Free Being Me workbook” made by Girl Scouts of Taiwan. This workbook allows them to share their learning and reflection with their friends and fulfill their action plan.
